At the beginning of a turnkey project, customers are invited to Star GB's HQ in Derby to view our range of machines. During the visit, customers can meet with our applications team to discuss the scope of the project and see live demonstrations of Star machines.
Star GB's applications team will suggest an ideal machine based on the scope of a customer's project. We will prepare the machine in our workshop ready for the turnkey project to commence.
Star GB's applications team will review all of the drawings including the geometric tolerances, select a suitable machining strategy and begin programming using our software systems.
Based on the material, complexity of the component or the customers' preference, our applications team will select suitable tooling through one of our suppliers. This ensures that optimal metal removal rates can be achieved whilst maintaining tool life.
Parts Set and Proven
Once the component is programmed and tooling is selected, a sample of parts will be manufactured and sent to the customer for inspection.
When the component has been proven and the desired quality has been achieved, our applications team will begin refining the program to minimise the cycle time whilst maintaining process stability.
At this stage, the customer will be invited to visit our headquarters to review the machining process, re-examine the quality, cycle time and tooling configuration.
Once the customer is satisfied with the parts, they will be invited to accept the component and sign the turnkey project off as complete.
Upon successful installation of the machine, customers can enjoy increased profit producing high-quality components accurately and efficiently.
