Following the announcement of another national lockdown, Star GB would like to take the opportunity to issue an update on COVID-19.

Throughout the pandemic, Star GB has safely remained open to support all customers who are continuing their manufacturing operations through our supply of machinery, spare parts, servicing and applications support.

This ongoing commitment to customer support will continue as we enter another stage of extended restrictions and we intend to maintain our usual opening hours of 08:30 – 17:00 from Monday to Friday.

Guidance for manufacturers

Guidance on www.gov.uk currently states:

“Where people cannot work from home – including, but not limited to, people who work in critical national infrastructure, construction, or manufacturing – they should continue to travel to their workplace. This is essential to keeping the country operating and supporting sectors and employers.”

We must consider all feasible action to reduce risks in order to help protect the NHS and save lives, so where possible some of our employees will revert to a home-working arrangement to continue their duties remotely.

However, we still require a certain number of employees to continue their work both at our facility in Derby and in the field at our customer sites. The health and wellbeing of our employees, customers and suppliers is paramount and we are operating safe practices including social distancing measures and strict hygiene guidelines.

Customer Support

Whether on-site or remotely working, the Star GB team in all departments will continue to be accessible via telephone, email, post or live chat. Service visits will continue as planned with safety instructions in place, including keeping a distance of 2 metres from your staff.

Please be aware that while we are making every effort to minimise disruption, hotel closures and other unforeseeable issues may cause delays or cancellations. Please inform us of any access or safety restrictions which may apply to your site.

Spare Parts

Our spare parts department will maintain usual operation with communication, deliveries and access to parts located in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, USA and Japan currently unaffected.

Visiting Star GB

We are operating an appointment-only schedule for customers and suppliers wishing to visit our HQ in Derby. There are access instructions in-line with Government recommendations which must be accepted prior to entry via a contactless sign-in system.

Investments

We would like to assure all customers that machine deliveries will continue as planned throughout this lockdown period with stock levels, imports and haulage currently unaffected. Your Area Sales Manager will remain contactable should you wish to discuss any enquiries or future investments.
